What are Sitelinks?

Sitelinks are provided for the first search result when certain conditions are met. These point to more specific pages on a website, such as the login page, contact page, and other popular landing pages.

More About Sitelinks

Google adds sitelinks below the main URL for websites with popular pages (aside from the main page). These additional links offer a quick and easy way to navigate directly to that site’s main pages. Sitelinks usually come in sets of 6 or 8 and are generally only included for the #1 result on a SERP.

Sitelinks are automatically decided by Google when they are deemed useful to searchers. However, there are ways to encourage sitelinks, such as by having a clear and unique site/company name, adding structured data (or schema markup) to relevant pages, and including an XML sitemap to help bots understand which pages are important.
